How it works
Three steps from Schwab export to a completed Swedish tax return.
Export from Schwab

Get a completed K4 form or SRU file ready for upload to Skatteverket. USD amounts are converted to SEK using Riksbanken rates.
Built for Schwab traders in Sweden
Automatic USD/SEK Conversion
All USD amounts are converted to SEK using Riksbanken exchange rates for the exact transaction date. No manual currency lookups needed.
Short Selling Support
"Sell Short" transactions and stock borrow fees are recognized and processed with Swedish short selling tax rules, including proper cost basis tracking.
SRU File for Skatteverket
Generate an SRU file you can upload directly to Skatteverket's e-service, skipping manual K4 form entry entirely.
Dividends & Corporate Actions
Dividends, splits, and other corporate actions from your Schwab statement are parsed and categorized for Swedish tax reporting.
Frequently asked questions
What does it cost?
Create a free Skatteguru account to use the Schwab converter. The converter is in beta and we welcome your feedback on how we can improve it.
How do I export from Charles Schwab?
Log in to schwab.com, go to Accounts → History, select your brokerage account and date range, then click Export and choose CSV. See our step-by-step guide for details.
Does this handle USD/SEK currency conversion?
Yes. Schwab transactions are in USD. Skatteguru automatically converts all amounts to SEK using exchange rates from Riksbanken (the Swedish Central Bank) for the correct transaction dates. You don't need to do any manual conversion.
Does it support short selling?
Yes. The Schwab parser recognizes "Sell Short" transactions and stock borrow fees. Skatteguru applies Swedish tax rules for short selling (blankning), including proper acquisition cost calculation and borrow fee treatment.
What is an SRU file?
An SRU file is a format that Skatteverket accepts for electronic submission of capital gains. Instead of filling in the K4 form by hand, you upload the SRU file directly in Skatteverket's online service. It saves time and reduces the risk of errors.
How do I know the calculations are correct?
Skatteguru is an automation tool designed to reduce manual work on your tax return. We recommend verifying the output and consulting a tax advisor or Skatteverket if you are unsure about any figures. See our K4 guide for more information.
