    Export CSV from Charles Schwab

    Last updated: Apr 25, 2026

    Beta Status

The Charles Schwab CSV parser is currently in early Beta. We have a limited number of test samples so far, so some imports may not work as expected. If you run into issues, please reach out—your feedback helps us improve coverage quickly.

This guide will help you export your transaction data from your Charles Schwab brokerage account in CSV format, for use in Skatteguru.

Use the Schwab web platform at schwab.com to perform the export. The mobile app does not support CSV exports.

Steps to export CSV from Charles Schwab

    1

    Log in to Schwab

Go to schwab.com and log in to your account.
    2

    Navigate to your account history

Click the Accounts tab in the top navigation, then click History.
    3

    Select your brokerage account

From the account dropdown, select the brokerage account you want to export transactions from.
    4

    Set the date range

Choose the date range for the transactions you want to export.

    Tip

Schwab limits exports to a maximum number of records per download. For large histories, export in smaller chunks (e.g., one year or one quarter at a time).
    5

    Filter transaction types (optional)

If desired, use the transaction type filter to include only specific types such as trades, dividends, or transfers.
    6

    Search for transactions

Click Search to load the transactions matching your criteria.
    7

    Export to CSV

Click the Export link or icon (usually found near the top of the results). Choose CSV as the export format and confirm the download.
    8

    Verify the CSV file

Open the downloaded CSV file and verify it contains the expected transactions. Make sure the date range is correct and no transactions are missing.
    9

    Upload to Skatteguru

Upload the CSV file(s) to Skatteguru to start processing your transaction data.

    CSV Columns

The Schwab transaction CSV typically includes the following columns:

    Date

    Transaction date (MM/DD/YYYY format)

    Action

Transaction type (Buy, Sell, Dividend, etc.)

    Symbol

    Ticker symbol for the security

    Description

Full name or description of the security or transaction

    Quantity

    Number of shares or units

    Price

    Price per share in USD

    Fees & Comm

Commissions and fees charged for the transaction

    Amount

    Total transaction amount in USD

    Important limitations

    Record limits

If you have a long trading history, break your exports into smaller date ranges and upload each file separately, if you encounter record limits.

    Currency Handling

Schwab transactions are denominated in USD (US Dollars). Skatteguru will automatically convert the values to SEK using exchange rates from Riksbanken (the Swedish Central Bank) for the appropriate dates.

    Missing transactions?

If your Schwab export is missing transactions (for example, stock splits, mergers, or other corporate actions), you can add them manually using our custom CSV format. See our CSV format instructions for details on how to add any type of transaction.
