This guide will help you export your transaction data from Montrose in CSV format, for use in Skatteguru.
Montrose is a modern trading platform that provides comprehensive transaction history. Here are some reasons why you might want to use Skatteguru alongside Montrose:
- Multiple brokers: If you've traded the same security across different brokers (not just Montrose), your average cost basis needs to be calculated with all transactions combined. Montrose only knows about transactions within their platform.
- Verification: You are personally liable for the accuracy of your K4 form. Skatteguru gives you the tools to verify and understand your tax situation.
- Riksbanken rates: For foreign currency transactions, Skatteguru uses Sveriges Riksbank's official exchange rates, which Skatteverket recommends.
Steps to export CSV from Montrose
Log in to Montrose
Select your Depå account
Important: Select the correct account type
Make sure to select your Depå (brokerage) account, not ISK (Investeringssparkonto - Investment Savings Account) or other account types.
ISK accounts are tax-deferred and not relevant for capital gains tax calculations (K4 form).
Go to Transaktioner (Transactions)
Press G on your keyboard to navigate to the Transactions tab. This keyboard shortcut takes you directly to your transaction history.

Select the date range
Select the longest possible date range using the date picker above the transaction list.
Select your entire trading history
We recommend selecting your entire transaction history:
- From: The earliest date available or your first trade
- To: Today's date
This ensures accurate calculation of your average acquisition value. Missing historical transactions can lead to incorrect tax calculations.
Export and download
Click the Exportera (Export) button in the top right corner to download your transactions as a CSV file.

Upload to Skatteguru
What data is included in the export?
The Montrose CSV export includes the following fields for each transaction:
- Datum - Date of the transaction
- Typ - Transaction type (buy/sell)
- Konto - Account number
- Värdepapper / Beskr. - Security name and description
- Antal - Number of shares/units
- Kurs - Price per unit
- Totalt - Total transaction value
Important: Account types
Verify your account type
Make sure you are exporting from the correct account type:
- Depåkonto / Aktiekonto: Use these account types for capital gains tax calculations (K4 form)
- ISK/KF: Investment Savings Accounts and Capital Insurance accounts are tax-deferred and should not be used for K4 calculations
